We have found this to be particularly beneficial for new or smaller organisations.Provides a recruitment channel for you to access highly-skilled and employable mathematics students.Offers the opportunity for you to foster an existing relationship, or develop a new relationship with the School of Mathematics and the wider University of Edinburgh.Get fresh perspectives and insights into new or existing problems that interest your company, from students who are proactive and keen to learn new skills.Time commitmentThis academic year, the MSc challenge will take place in early 2025 and can last up to 5 days. To make the experience for the students as rich as possible we will require some face-to-face interaction, with the challenge launch and final presentations required in-person as a minimum. A daily check in and Q&A session with the students (2 hours) could be hybrid if required, or the week can run entirely face-to-face.Financial contributionEach year our partner company offers the winning students a prize. In the past these have included behind the scenes tours or experiences, vouchers and other gifts. Depending on the amount of face-to-face time in the challenge, you may also need to cover travel and accommodation costs.Expression of interestPlease contact our Student Development team for any further queries.studentdevelopment@maths.ed.ac.ukFurther guidance Document Employability challenges information pack (25.9 KB / DOCX) This article was published on 2025-04-22
