Statistical Ecology

The Statistical Ecology Reading Group holds eight meetings : meeting once a month from October 2019 through May 2020.  At these meetings the group will either discuss a specific paper in statistical ecology, with a selected individual leading the discussion, or discuss and/or brainstorm a particular topic in statistical ecology with open research questions.

• Meeting 4: 27 February 9:00 - 11:00 AM, JCMB Room 3620. The paper: "Integrated capture-recapture-recovery data for partially monitored populations''. Discussion led by Blanca Sarzo and Ruth King
• Meeting 3: 30 January 10:00-11:50 AM, JCMB 3620.  The paper: "Understanding the Stochastic Partial Differential Equation Approach to Smoothing" by Miller, Glennie, and Seaton (JABES, 2019).  Discussion led by Richard Glennie and Andy Seaton.
• Meeting 2: 5 December 10:00-11:50 AM, JCMB 3620.  The paper: "Efficient estimation of generalized linear latent variable models" by Niku, et al (PLOS One, 2019).  Discussion led by Riki Herliansyah.
• Meeting 1: 31 October 09:00-10:50 AM, JCMB 3620.  The paper: "Size-specific sensitivity: applying a new structured population model" by Easterling, Ellner, and Dixon (Ecology 2000).  Discussion led by Eddie Fung.
