Join Miguel de Carvalho, the School's Chair of Statistical Data Science and University of Edinburgh's Generative AI Laboratory Fellow, to discuss generative AI models for extreme events. Extreme events – such as market crashes, wildfires, unprecedented flooding, intense hurricanes, and extreme heatwaves – cause major disruptions across societal and ecological systems. This workshop aims to stimulate discussion on generative AI models for extreme events and to promote the exploration of novel directions in this emerging area.The event will take place between 9am and 5pm on June 13th and 14th in the Yew Lecture Theatre, Nucleus Building.
