Fordyce A Davidson abstract Division of Mathematics, University of Dundee Applications of differential equations to spatio-temporal organisation in (micro)-biology In this short talk I will give and overview of work I have been involved in regarding the application of differential equations and related methods to problems arising in biology - principally micro-biology. One of the defining features of almost all biological systems is the rapid transfer of information across spatial scales, so what happens at the “individual component" level potentially has an immediate and significant impact at the system level. I will detail some examples of how we have attempted to model and hence better understanding multi-component systems. This article was published on 2025-04-22
