Karine Chemla has been elected to the French Academy of Sciences in the Commission on History, Philosophy and Ethics of Science. Dr Karine Chemla is known internationally for her work on the history of Chinese Mathematics and joined the School on a British Academy Global Professorship in 2024. The French Academy of Sciences (established in 1666) is an assembly of around 300 leading experts in the science subjects, including Nobel Prize winners and Fields Medalists.
