The third HiGHS Workshop

Users and hosts of HiGHS, the open-source high performance software for linear optimization, gathered at the third annual HiGHS Workshop on June 1 2026.

This year's HiGHS workshop was co-located with the JuMP-dev workshop of the open-source modelling language JuMP, and took place on the day before the SIAM Optimization conference.

Hence both events had record attendances, and provided a great opportunity for interaction between practitioners, modelling language experts, optimization researchers and solver developers.

Edinburgh Maths PhD graduate Ivona Gjeroska gave a fascinating talk about the use of HiGHS to solve optimization models at Edinburgh Airport, and Soren Little described how prescriptive analytics at OSM Data are being integrated into databases, again using HiGHS as a solver. In addition to five talks by HiGHS team members about new solver developments, Daniele Lerede of Open Energy Transition showed how HiGHS is leading their open-source solver benchmarks for open energy system modelling problems.
