The School of Mathematics offers three MSc programmes in Statistics: Statistics and Operational Research, Statistics with Artificial Intelligence, and Statistics with Data Science. The MSc Statistics and OR provides a core focus on the natural combination of analytical skills; while the MSc Statistics with Artificial Intelligence and MSc Statistics with Data Science provide a strong foundation in the basic discipline of statistics with additional breadth in mathematical sciences, computing, and artificial intelligence.In addition to the academic content there is also an emphasis on the interpersonal and communication skills which are key for a future career in industry and further studies and research.Both MSc Statistics and OR and MSc Statistics with Data Science are accredited by The Royal Statistical Society. MSc Statistics with Artificial Intelligence is a new programme for 2027 entry, and has therefore not yet been assessed by The Royal Statistical Society.
